Skjolden is located at the end of the worlds longest fjord, the Sognefjord in the middle of Norway. 45 minutes from Sogndal Airport, or about a 5 hour drive from Oslo, Bergen or Trondheim. Prepare for a breathtaking roadtrip!

Skjolden is one of Norways very best destinations for hiking trips all year around. Being so close to both Josterdalen and Hurrungane (Jotunheimen) its a ski touring paradise. Jotunheimen is worshiped by those who love alpine adventures. Here you can find Norhern Europe´s tallest peaks. Its even possible to get on to the legendary Jotunheimen Haute Route (Drive 30 kilometer from Skjolden to Krossbu, and walk the Route backwards to Gjendesheim).

Summer hiking in Jotunheimen, Josterdalen and Breheimen is also a majestic experience! And do not forget all the available hikes around the teal Lustrafjord and the surrounding valleys and waterfalls.

How to get here

If you travel from Oslo Airport, Bergen or Trondheim it is a 5 hour drive through breathtaking nature! It will only get more beautiful for every mile you go. You can either rent a car, take the bus to get here.
